JAMES “JIM” ROY HIGGINS, age 83, of Clanton, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on August 13, 2025, at his residence.
He was born in Chilton County on February 26, 1942, the son of the late Roy F. Higgins and the late Ruth Rollins Higgins. Jim honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict. Following his military service, he built a career with the State of Alabama Department of Revenue as an appraiser and valuation analyst.
A man of deep faith, Jim loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was a faithful member of Pinedale Assembly of God Church in Clanton.
He is survived by his loving wife, Ladene Higgins of Clanton; brother, Byron (Debbie) Higgins of Clanton; sister-in-law, Ruth Benton of Montgomery; and numerous nieces and nephews: Edward, Cameron, Cassie, Tracy, James, Dianne, Brenda, Ali, Abbey, and Cael.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Thurmond Cleckler officiating.
The family will receive friends thirty minutes prior to the service.
Burial will follow in Martin Memorial Cemetery in Clanton, Alabama.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Pinedale Assembly of God Church in Clanton.
