JAMES ALLEN “PETE” JONES, age 75 of Jemison, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2021 at his residence. He was born in Gardendale, AL on October 19, 1945; the son of the late L.B. Jones and the late Evie Hall Jones.
Pete retired from State Farm Insurance Company as an administrative services supervisor after 40 years of service. He was an ordained Southern Baptist deacon. He was a faithful member of Mineral Springs Baptist Church. Pete was also a member of the Alabaster Masonic Lodge. Pete loved being outdoors where he spent countless hours camping and enjoying his favorite hobby, fishing. He was an avid Alabama football fan and enjoyed watching various sports. He also loved watching his favorite TV show, Swamp People.
He is survived by: Wife, Mary Jones of Jemison; Son, Chris Jones of Homewood; Daughter, Karen (Jerry) Love of Oakland, TN; Grandsons, Joshua and Jacob Love of Oakland, TN; Brother, Sam Jones of Hanceville; nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his Parents, L.B. and Evie Jones.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at 11:00am from the Chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home in Clanton with Mr. Terry Cobb, Rev. Doug West, and Rev. Jason Green officiating.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
A private family interment service will follow in the Oak Grove Baptist Cemetery in Jemison, AL.
The family request in lieu of flowers, please make a memorial contribution in Pete’s memory to Mineral Springs Baptist Church to be used to further spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the community. Contributions may be mailed to MSBC 8316 Co. Rd. 51 Clanton, AL 35046.
