Jane Elizabeth (Barham) Davenport

JANE E. (BARHAM) DAVENPORT, of Thorsby, Alabama, passed away on October 16, 2023, after an extended illness. She was born in 1930 in Birmingham, AL, to Thomas Barham and Mattie Bentley.

 For many years, Jane was an active member of the Thorsby Baptist Church. She loved travel and especially taking walks on the beach. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many.

Jane is preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Billy Gene Davenport, as well as four brothers, Sam Barham, T.E. Barham, William Barham, Ed Barham, and one sister, Peggy B. Pugh.

 She is survived by her two children, son Kirk Davenport (Joy) and daughter Cheryl Naugher (Bill); four grandchildren, Kirk, Hannah, Will, and Chris; and three great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2023 from 12:30pm until 1:30pm at Thorsby First Baptist Church.

A family graveside service will follow at 2:00pm in the Thorsby Memorial Cemetery in Thorsby, AL with Rev. Marc Hodges officiating.

Her family would like to express appreciation to the staff at Hatley Healthcare for the care Jane received over the course of her long-term illness.
