Janice Lynn (Hayes) Franklin

JANICE LYNN (HAYES) FRANKLIN, age 69 of Jemison, passed away on July 16, 2025 at Baptist Health-Shelby Hospital in Alabaster, AL. She was born at Offutt Airforce Base in Nebraska on October 23, 1955; the daughter of the late Enoch Junior “E.J.” Hayes and Marlene Hayes.

She was a loving wife to her husband for over 47 years, as well as a devoted mom and nana. She was a darling daughter, sweet sister, and caregiver to many throughout her life.

She is survived by: Husband, Jerry Franklin of Jemison; Son, Jeremy (Jana) Franklin of Thorsby; Grandsons: Brady Franklin, Jasper Franklin, and Grant Franklin all of Thorsby; Mother, Marlene Hayes of Maplesville; Sister, Debra Orange of Clanton; Sister, Kathy (Jerry) Smith of Valley Grande; Sister, Laura (Terry) Liveoak of Jemison; Brother, Gary Franklin; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by: Father, E.J. Hayes; Father-in-Law, Cecil Franklin; Mother-in-Law, Gladys Franklin; Sister-in-Law, Kay Franklin; and Niece, Marlena Hayes.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at 2:00pm from Mt. Carmel Baptist Church No. 1 with Rev. Lance Driskell and Rev. Matt Hilyer officiating.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

Burial will follow in the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church No. 1 Cemetery in Thorsby, AL.
