JERRY LYNN COX, age 69 of Clanton, passed away on September 6, 2024 at his residence. He was born in Chilton County on January 13, 1955; the son of the late John Jefferson Cox, Jr. and Mary Frances Edwards Cox.
Jerry was a carpenter by trade and enjoyed building houses, many of which are found throughout the local community. He was a hard worker who took pride in the jobs he did, whether they be construction related or working a bit being a mechanic. He was an avid Alabama football fan. He was an outdoorsman who loved spending time being in the outdoors and riding four-wheelers.
He is survived by: Daughter, Cynthia Cox of Clanton; Daughter, Sharon Green of Clanton; Daughter, Melissa Bowden of Clanton; Daughter, Alysia (Daniel) Hammock of Prattville; Son, Jeremy Cox of Clanton; 13 Grandchildren; Brother, Tommy Cox of Clanton; Sister, Judy Headley of Clanton; Sister, Tina Cox of Jemison; and Sister, Angie Nix of Thorsby.
He is preceded in death by: Wife, Linda Kay Cox; Parents, John and Mary Frances Cox; and Brother, Andrew Cox.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 9, 2024 at 11:00am from the Chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Lynn Roe officiating.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Burial will follow in the New Cedron Baptist Cemetery in Billingsley, AL.
