Jesse Raymond Boartfield, Jr.

JESSE RAYMOND BOARTFIELD, JR., age 79 of Verbena, passed away on May 2, 2021 at his residence. He was born in Jefferson County, AL on January 30, 1942; the son of the late Jesse Raymond Boartfield, Sr. and the late Ophelia Cox Boartfield.

He was a former plumber with the City of Sacramento. He also honorably served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Conflict.

He is survived by: Wife, Dottie Boartfield; Daughter, Laurel (Darryl) Burns; Son, Jesse (Cecilla) Boartfield III; Son, Robert Boartfield; Son, Chris (Sarah) Boartfield; Daughter, Dorothy Fox; 14 Grandchildren; 12 Great Grandchildren; Sister, Betty (Sonny) Dollar; Sister, Faye (Jeff) Wilkes; Sister, Lois (David) Cash; Brother, Curtis “Bubba” (Rachel) Boartfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by: Parents, Raymond and Ophelia Boartfield; Brother, Charles Boartfield; and Sister, Kaye Riley.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at 2:00pm from The Church at Eastern Oaks in Montgomery, AL with Rev. Eddie Gillenwater and Dr. Daniel Gillenwater officiating.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

An inurnment service with military honors will be held on Friday, May 7, 2021 at 2:00pm in the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, AL.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
