Jesse Dewitt Morton

JESSE DEWITT MORTON, age 78 of Calera, passed away on February 6, 2024 at Grandview Medical Center In Birmingham, AL. He was born on May 25, 1945; the son of the late Jesse Julian Morton and the late Pauline Motley Morton.

He is survived by: Wife, Dorothy A. Morton of Calera; Son, Duane (Jerri) Morton of Clanton; Son, Travis (Shelly) East of Verbena; Daughter, Rhonda (Mark) Hale of Alabaster; 14 Grandchildren; 27 Great Grandchildren; Sister, Shirley (Ronald) Sanders of West Blocton; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by: Father, Jesse Morton; Mother, Pauline Creel; Brother, Tom Morton; Brother, James Morton; and Brother, Wayne Morton.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 9, 2024 at 2:00pm from the Shelby Memory Gardens Chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home in Calera with Rev. Alton Briston officiating.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Burial will follow in the Shelby Memory Gardens in Calera, AL.
