JoAnn (Giles) Simmons

JOANN (GILES) SIMMONS, age 80 of Clanton, passed away on October 29, 2022 at her residence. She was born in Chilton County on September 29, 1942; the daughter of the late Victor Winfield Giles and the late Claudia Etta Little Giles.

She was a homemaker. She loved her family dearly and will be remembered for all the love that she showed to not only her family but to all those around her.

She is survived by: Companion, Harold McNeal of Shelby; Daughter, Cathy (Danny) Headley of Clanton; Son, Stevie Jones of Clanton; Son, Douglas Jones (Troy Martin) of Tucker, GA; Son, James (Katie) Simmons of Clanton; Daughter, Lolita (Johnathon) Hoggle of Clanton; Daughter, Windy (Rodney) Cleckley of Shelby; Son, William Simmons, Jr. of Clanton; Sister, Mary Etta Hayes of Clanton; and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by: Husband, William “Billy” Simmons, Sr.; Daughter, Melissa Lockhart; and Grandchildren: Brandon Lockhart, Brian Jones, and Heaven Jones; Brothers, Luther Giles, Lamar Giles.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 4, 2022 at 2:00pm from the Chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home in Clanton with Rev. Jeff Mims and Rev. Thurmond Cleckler officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Inurnment will take place in the Robinson Springs Cemetery in Clanton, AL.
