John Thomas Mims

JOHN THOMAS MIMS, age 91 of Clanton, passed away on November 11, 2023 at Bill Nicholas State Veteran Home in Alexander City, AL. He was born in Chilton County, AL on August 7, 1932; the son of the late Simmual Mims and the late Claudia Davis Jackson Mims.

John honorably served his country in the United States Army.

He is survived by: Son, Darrell (Janet) Mims; Son, Randy (Gail) Mims; Granddaughter, Sabrina (Nathan); Granddaughter, Katrina (Di); Grandson, Andy (Makenzie); Great Granddaughter, Allison (Dillon); Great Granddaughter, Ava Kate, Great Grandson, Mack; Great Grandson, Colton; Great Granddaughter, Alexis, Great Grandson, Westin; Great Grandson, Jett; and Great- Great Granddaughter, Rynleigh.

He is preceded in death by: Wife, Elouise Mims; Son, Richard Lynn Mims; Parents, Simmual and Claudia Mims; Brother, Douglas Mims; and Brother, Frank Mims.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 13, 2023 at 2:00pm from the chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home in Clanton, AL with Rev. Randall Mims and Rev. James Long officiating.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Burial will follow in the Chilton Memorial Gardens in Clanton, AL.

The family requests no food or flowers and in Lieu of flowers please donate to Concord Baptist Church in Clanton, AL.
