John "Jack" William Sloan

JOHN “JACK” WILLIAM SLOAN, age 85 of Clanton and formerly of Lynn Haven, FL, passed away on August 2, 2025 at his residence. He was born in Wilkins Township, PA on July 19, 1940; the son of the late James “Jimmy” Sloan and the late Clara Mae Luffey Sloan.

Jack served his country in the United States Navy with service during the Vietnam Era and during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was a mechanic and the owner of Lynn Haven Automotive in Lynn Haven, FL.

He is survived by: Daughter, Susan L. (Michael) Hamman of Strawberry Plains, TN; Daughter, Shelly M. (David) Walsh of Clanton; Grandsons: Matt (Angela) Dottl of Gansevoort, NY, John D. (Katheryn) Walsh of Clanton, Bradley Benton of Strawberry Plains, TN, and James A. (Jessica) Walsh of Navoo; Great Grandson, Jaxson Thomas Walsh of Navoo; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by: Wife, Nancy Witter Sloan.

The family plans to hold a celebration of life at a later date in Panama City, FL.
