Joyce Marie (Davenport) Hilyer

JOYCE MARIE (DAVENPORT) HILYER, age 65 of Clanton, passed away suddenly on December 10, 2023 at St. Vincent-Chilton Hospital in Clanton, AL. She was born in Hinsdale, IL on June 13, 1958; the daughter of the late Henry Davenport and the late Shirley Staggs McCartney.

She was a homemaker and beloved mother, grandmother, and sister.

She is survived by: Son, Scottie (April) Hilyer; Grandchildren: Jonathan Hilyer, Alexus Hilyer, Richard Hilyer, Caleb Hilyer, Trevor Hilyer, Austin Hilyer, Danielle Hilyer, and Alex Smith; Great Grandchildren: Olivia Hilyer, Aviana Hilyer, Hayden Roper, Johnmikul Hilyer, Lakelynn Hilyer, Chase Hilyer, Marilyn Smith, Carver Hilyer, Camden Hilyer, and Riley Green; Brother, Pete (Debbie) Davenport; Sister, Janice (James) Cleckler; Brother, Jeff (Mandy) Davenport; and Special Cousin, Betty Gail Tidwell.

She is preceded in death by: Husband, Danny Hilyer; Son, Brian Davenport; Son, Todd Gentry Hilyer; Son, D.J. Hilyer; Parents, Henry Davenport, Frank McCartney, Jr. and Shirley McCartney; Sister, Judy Gore; Brother, John Davenport; Brother, Jack Davenport; and Sister-in-Law, Debbie Ann Davenport.

In accordance with Joyce’s wishes a graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at 1:00pm in the Floyd Baptist Cemetery in Verbena, AL with Rev. J. Aaron Ellison officiating.

No visitation will be held. Friends and family please meet at the cemetery.

The family request in lieu of flowers, please make a donation towards the funeral expenses at the funeral home.
