Judy Ann (Cox) Spurr

Judy Ann (Cox) Spurr, age 71, of Clanton, Alabama, passed away on June 25, 2026.

She was born on February 24, 1955, the daughter of the late Jack Dempsey Cox and the late Rita Marie Downing Cox.

Judy was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose greatest joy came from the people she loved. She enjoyed life's simple pleasures, especially riding with the top down in her convertible Volkswagen, spending time shopping, and making memories with her family. Judy also truly loved her work at Chilton Pediatrics, where she formed lasting friendships and took great pride in caring for those she served. Her warm personality, kind heart, and joyful spirit will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She is survived by her daughter, Willie (Edward) Wilson of Clanton; granddaughters, Santana (Triston) Hood of Clanton, Ella Grace (Kaleb) Martin of Clanton, and Courtney (Shawn) Smith of Clanton; great-grandchildren, Ava, Liam, Greyson, Sawyer, Charlee Kate, Elijah, and one precious great-grandchild on the way; brother, Jack Cox of Clanton; sister, Cynia Taff of Clanton; and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack Dempsey Cox and Rita Marie Downing Cox, and her husband, Willie D. Mims.

Judy's family finds comfort in knowing that the love she shared and the memories she created will forever remain in their hearts.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 28, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home in Clanton, Alabama with Rev. Thurmond Cleckler officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Burial will follow at Mt. Spring Cemetery in Clanton, Alabama.

Pallbearers: Cooter Heflin, Dillian Moates, Triston Hood, Kaleb Martin, Jeremy Wilson and Jerome Minor.
