JULIA RAE PERKINS, age 58 of Lawley, passed away suddenly on November 5, 2025 at her residence. She was born in Greensboro, AL on December 21, 1966, the daughter of the late Joseph Perkins and Judy Reynolds Perkins.
Julee, as she was affectionately known, loved knitting, especially anything in her favorite color—purple. Many family and friends lovingly carry a piece of her work today. She was an avid reader and a devoted lover of sci-fi movies and TV, always enjoying the worlds and imagination found within its pages. Julee also appreciated music and could often be found listening to her favorite songs. She had a tender heart for animals, so much so that there wasn’t a hungry dog in the neighborhood—she made sure of it. Her kindness, creativity, and gentle spirit touched many around her.
She is survived by her daughter, Rhiannon Perkins; grandson, Colin Bondell; mother, Judy Perkins; brother, Jeff Perkins; sister, Jessica (Scotty) Patterson; nephew, Draven Patterson; along with a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins who will miss her dearly.
She is preceded in death by her father, Rev. Joe Perkins.
The family will hold a gathering on Saturday, November 15, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. in The Community Room at Ellison Memorial Funeral Home in Clanton, AL.
Final care and arrangements entrusted to the Ellison Memorial Funeral Home of Clanton, AL.
