Kathy Arlene (Cooper) Trawick

KATHY ARLENE (COOPER) TRAWICK, age 63 of Little Rock, AR, passed away suddenly on January 8, 2025 at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock, AR. She was born in Montgomery, AL on December 27, 1961; the daughter of the late Robert Wesley Cooper and the late Bertha Ola Newman Cooper.

Kathy was a 1979 graduate of Jefferson Davis High School in Montgomery, AL. She earned a degree in English from Montevallo University in Montevallo, AL. She earned her master’s in education from UAB in Birmingham, AL. She finally earned her doctoral degree in allied health from the University of Arkansas Little Rock.

She retired from UAMS after 25 years of service. There she served as a professor and department head. She was instrumental in the start-up of the program there.

Kathy was of the Baptist faith and was a member of The Church at Rock Creek in Little Rock, AR. Prior to her membership there she was a member of The Church at Pinnacle Mountain where she served as director of education and was instrumental in literature ordering and the vacation Bible school program.

She is survived by: Husband, Wayne Trawick of Little Rock, AR; Brother, Rob (Kim) Cooper of Huntsville, AL; Sister, Ara Jo (Cecil) Horn of Prattville; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by: Parents, Robert and Bertha Cooper; and her sister, Jerry Parrish.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2025 at 2:00pm from the Chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home in Clanton, AL with Rev. Jason Green officiating.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Burial will follow in the Church of Christ at Midway Cemetery in Marbury, AL.
