Kirby Tyler Leon Jones

KIRBY TYLER LEON JONES, age 31 of Clanton, passed away suddenly on August 5, 2025, at UAB St. Vincent–Chilton Hospital in Clanton. He was born on November 19, 1993, in Bessemer, Alabama, the son of Kevin Leon Jones and Jerri Deirdre Patterson Griffin.

Kirby was a proud iron worker who truly loved his craft. Hanging metal buildings wasn’t just a job to him—it was a passion. He took great pride in mentoring younger men who wanted to learn the trade, always dreaming of the day he’d open a company of his own. He believed in hard work, leading by example, and lifting others up along the way.

A true Southern outdoorsman, Kirby could most often be found riding four-wheelers in the creek, hosting a bonfire with friends, or tossing bags in a game of cornhole. He loved music, laughter, and being the life of the party. But more than anything, he loved his family. His wife and daughters were the center of his world, and he was a fiercely protective and devoted brother to his sisters.

He is survived by his loving wife, Morgan Jones of Clanton; his two daughters, Karlie and Kenzlie Jones of Clanton; his father, Kevin “Pops” Jones (Ashley Moore) of Clanton; and his mother, Deirdre Griffin (Patrick) of Jemison. He also leaves behind his sisters: Colby Miller (Mason) of Thorsby, Star Jones (Nick Simmons) of Clanton, Sydney Griffin of Argo, Anna Ledet (Josh Caminiti) of Jemison, and Stormy Jones (Matthew Ogle) of Clanton; his brother, Christian Griffin of Jemison; his grandmother, Ruby Long of Cold Springs, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Jean Mims, Jerry Patterson, Brenda Patterson, Curan Leon Jones, and Rick Walton.

A celebration of Kirby’s life will be held on Sunday, August 10, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home, with Bro. Glenn Jones officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Burial will follow at Bethsalem Baptist Cemetery in Billingsley, Alabama.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Kirby Jones Savings Account at Mutual Savings Credit Union for the benefit of his two young daughters.
