LAWRENCE EDWARD ANCELL, age 78 of Clanton, passed away suddenly on December 11, 2023 at St. Vincent-Chilton Hospital in Clanton, AL. He was born in Alamosa, Colorado on December 4, 1945; the son of the late Thomas Edward Ancell and the late Betty Jean Lake Gray.
He was a former maintenance engineer director. He loved the outdoors where he would enjoy spending time fishing. When indoors, he absolutely loved watching and taking in episodes of Gunsmoke on TV. His love of sports led to a 15 year plus stent of volunteering with school athletic programs in West Virginia. Most of all he will be remembered for the love he had for his family, they were his life.
He is survived by: Wife, Noreen Ancell of Clanton; Son, Clay (Mujtaba Handwala) Ancell of Kansas City, MO; Daughter, Carrie Ancell of Nashville, TN; Daughter, Angela Michelle (Shelly) Dickson of Herrin, IL; Son, Carey Don Neel of Pensacola, FL; Son, Jimmy Loucks of Pensacola, FL; Granddaughter, Julia (Monica) Moses of Caldonia, MO; Brother, Mike (Carolie) Ancell of Mt. Rose, CO; Brother, Robert (Pam) Ancell of Marshall, MO; and Sister, Shelly (Stony) Dennis of Clanton.
He is preceded in death by: Inf. Son, Craig Ancell; Inf. Son, Benjamin Thomas Ancell; Parents, Thomas Ancell and Betty Gray; Brother, Edward Gray; and Sister, Linda Dill.
In accordance with his wishes, no services are planned.
