Lucille (Simmons) Price

LUCILLE SIMMONS PRICE of Clanton, Alabama entered her eternal home of Monday, August 12, 2024 at the age of 79 surrounded by her family.

She was born on October 7, 1944 to the late Jake Simmons and the late Ressie Mae Simmons in Chilton County.

She met the love of her life, Ralph P. Price, a jack of all trades and they were married for over 50 years until his death in 2010. She and Ralph had 4 children together and made their home in Clanton. A few years after Ralph’s death she met an unexpected gentleman who she later married, JC Pierce and they lived happily until his death in 2021.

Lucille or “MawMaw” as she was affectionately known to most everyone, was a woman of great faith. She was a firm believer in the power of prayer and that doing the right thing was always the best policy to have. She loved gospel music, visiting with the sick and elderly, and spending time reading her Bible. She had an unfathomable love for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She never met a stranger and always tried to look for the very best in people. Her loud laugh will never be forgotten as it would fill the room whenever she was present.

To know Lucille was to love her, but to really know Lucille, was to know the love of Christ as that is how she loved others, unconditionally. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

She leaves behind to cherish her memories; son, Herbert (Denise) Price; daughter, Felicia Ann Price Easterling; daughter, Donna (Jimmy) Howell; daughter, Sherry (Mike) Wilkins; 14 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; sister, Willie Mae Crowson; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She preceded in death by her parents Jake and Ressie Mae Simmons; her husbands, Ralph P. Price and JC Pierce; grandchildren, Mark Price and Matthew Price; great-granddaughter, Destiny Rose Adams; and sister, Sarah Nell Williams.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 from 6-8pm at Ellison Memorial Funeral Home in Clanton.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 15, 2024 at 2:00 p.m.  from The Chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Sandifer and Shane Ogle officiating.

Interment will follow in the Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery in Clanton, AL.
