Mrs. Maggie Esther (McDaniel) Jones, age 78 of Clanton, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2026 at her residence surrounded by the love of her family. She was born in Chilton County on December 21, 1947; the daughter of the late Melvin McDaniel and the late Lillian Nobles McDaniel.
Maggie dedicated many years of faithful work at the former Keystone plant in Clanton and later retired from Walmart in Clanton, where she formed many lasting friendships through the years. Away from her work, she found great joy in sewing and quilting, often creating treasured keepsakes for those she loved. A devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, Maggie’s greatest happiness came from spending time with her family. She especially cherished every moment shared with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought immeasurable joy to her life. Her gentle spirit, caring heart, and loving presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan (Jimbo) Grund of Clanton; son, Michael (Jessica) Jones of Clanton; grandchildren, Brittany (Dusty) McNabb of Calera, Krysten Jones of Clanton, Caleb Jones of Clanton, and Bobby Jones of Clanton; great-grandchildren, Kendall McLaughlin of Calera, Hope Jones of Clanton, Zake Jones of Clanton, and Aubrey McNabb of Chelsea; brother, Jackie (Cindy) McDaniel of Clanton; along with a host of extended family members and dear friends.
