Martha B. (Birmingham) White

MARTHA B. WHITE, daughter of William T.T. Birmingham and Mary Elizabeth Toney, was born on November 24, 1943, in Virginia Beach, VA. She passed from this life on August 27, 2024, at the age of 80. Martha was a resident of Chilton County Alabama for over 30 years, where she built a life filled with love, family, and faith.

Martha was preceded in death by her beloved husband of over 54 years, Gerald Walter White Sr.; her daughter, Sandra Diane White; three brothers; and three sisters. She is survived by her brother, James; her sons, Gerald "Jay" Walter White Jr. (Jackie) and Dr. Mike White (Sharon); her daughter, Cynthia (Cindy) White Hilyer (Bryan); ten grandchildren; and twenty-six great-grandchildren.

Martha was known for her warm heart, her steadfast faith, and her dedication to her family. Her generosity and kindness touched everyone she met, and she was a pillar of strength and grace to her family and friends. She cherished her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren deeply and always looked forward to the moments she could spend with them.

Though she will be deeply missed, the beautiful memories she created with her family and friends will forever keep her spirit alive. As we honor her life, we are reminded of the lasting impact one person can have simply by loving others well. Martha's light will continue to shine in the lives of those who were blessed to know her.

A service to celebrate Martha's life will be held on Thursday, September 5th, at 10:15 a.m. at the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, Alabama. The service will be officiated by her son, Dr. Mike White. Friends and family will gather to honor her memory and the wonderful legacy she leaves behind.
