Martha "Sue" Inez (Pate) Thornhill

MARTHA INEZ “SUE” (PATE) THORNHILL, age 71 of Randolph, passed away on July 25, 2023 at her residence. She was born in Chilton County on March 27, 1952; the daughter of the late Coy Nicholas Pate and the late Fannie Ruth Smith Pate.

Sue retired from the Chilton County Board of Education where she was a school bus driver for 32 years. It was a job that brought her much pride and joy in life.

She is survived by: Husband, James D. Thornhill of Randolph; Daughter, Jenny R. (John) Huett of Randolph; Daughter, Jamie Dawn (Randall) Snow of Randolph; Grandchildren: Cody (Hailey) Huett, Austin (Morgan) Huett, and Randy Snow; Great Grandchildren: Remi Snow, Leah Huett, and Corbin Huett; Sister, Nancy Gothard; Brothers: Bobby Pate, Ted Pate, and David Pate; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at 11:00am from Mars Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Evie Megginson officiating.

Visitation will be held from 9:30am until service time at the church.

Burial will follow in the Mars Hill Baptist Cemetery in Jemison, AL.

The family would like to express special thanks to Enhabit Hospice of Clanton and the assistance of Christie Thomas and Vickie Overton for the care they provided to Sue.
