Mary Alice (Payton) Burnett

MARY ALICE (PAYTON) BURNETT, age 88 of Alabaster, passed away on July 16, 2024, at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster, AL..  She was born in Maylene, AL on September 5, 1935; the daughter of the late Luther Clifford Payton and the late Katie Mae Wyatt Payton.

She enjoyed spending time crafting and woodworking. She also loved the outdoors where she loved to go fishing. In her spare time she could be found watching gameshows or taking in an Atlanta Braves game on TV. She absolutely loved watching her grandchildren participate in their respective sports. She loved attending and being a part of her church at Amazing Grace Worship Center.

She is survived by her Daughters; Angel Burnett of Alabaster, Wanda Rasmussen (Eric) of Vincent, Barbara Standifer (Phil) of Newton; Son, Alan Burnett of Alabaster; 9 Grandchildren, 12 Great Grandchildren, 1 Great-Great Grandchild; Sister, Sharon Hawkins of Jemison and Special Friend, William Busby of Jemison.

She is preceded in death by: Husband, Billie Burnett; Son, Danny Burnett and Granddaughter, Callie Standifer.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2024 from 6-8pm at the Shelby Memory Gardens Chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home in Calera, AL.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 19, 2024, at 2:00pm from the Shelby Memory Gardens Chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home in Calera with Rev. Kevin Blankenship officiating.

Burial will follow in the Shelby Memory Gardens in Calera, AL.
