MATTHEW VINSON VEAZEY, age 44 of Maplesville, passed away suddenly on February 18, 2024 at St. Vincent-Chilton Hospital in Clanton. He was born in Birmingham, AL on August 7, 1979; the son of Larry Vinson Veazey and Betty Jean Holcomb Veazey.
He was a heavy equipment operator who owned his own business. He was known far and wide as “The Dozer Man.” He formerly was employed in the log woods by Mid-State Timber Company. Matt will be remembered as a loving husband, father, son, brother, and uncle. Matt was a good man and a friend to many people. He was someone that you could count on to be there for you if you needed him.
He is survived by: Wife, Jana Veazey of Maplesville; Son, Dylan Veazey of Maplesville; Daughter, Allie Veazey of Maplesville; Daughter, Daisy Veazey of Maplesville; Son, Myers Veazey of Maplesville; Daughter, Harper Melton of Maplesville; Parents, Larry and Betty Veazey of Maplesville; and Brother, Heath (Lindsay) Veazey of Maplesville.
He is preceded in death by: Wife, Sunny Veazey; Paternal Grandparents, Henry Vinson and Anita Marie Veazey; and Maternal Grandparents, Glenn Shelton and Jewel Evelyn Holcomb.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at 2:00pm from Mulberry Baptist Church with Rev. Andy Mims officiating.
Visitation will be held prior to the service at the church beginning at 12:30pm.
Burial will follow in the Mulberry Baptist Cemetery in Maplesville, AL.
