Mavis Olene (Robinson) Moates

MAVIS OLENE (ROBINSON) MOATES, age 82 of Verbena, passed away on August 21, 2023 at her residence. She was born in Chilton County, AL on February 16, 1941; the daughter of the late Vesker Robinson and the late Lucille Blow Robinson. 

She is survived by: Husband, Edwin (Pig) Moates of Verbena; Son, Rickey Moates of Verbena; Son, Joel Moates of Verbena; Daughter, Wanda Moates of Verbena; Sister, Gloria Halko of Coosa; Sister, Dorathy Kelley of Verbena; Brother, Billy Robinson of Jemison; Sister, Mary Carden of Verbena; 8 Grandchildren and 14 Great-Grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by: Father, Vesker Robinson, Mother, Lucille Robinson; and Siblings: Doyle Robinson; Gene Robinson; Gerry Robinson; Johnny Robinson; Faye Nell Mims; Shirley Denton; and Jo Ann McDaniel.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 24, 2023 at 2:00pm from the Chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home with Bishop Greg Gann officiating.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Church of God Cemetery in Clanton, AL.
