Melissa Dawn (Kromer) Early

MELISSA DAWN (KROMER) EARLY, age 51 of Verbena, passed away suddenly on April 7, 2025 at Baptist Health – Brookwood Hospital in Homewood, AL. She was born in Sylacauga, AL on January 27, 1974; the daughter of the late Jimmy Earl Kromer, Sr. and Beverly Ann Henderson Kromer.

Missy Early passed away leaving behind a legacy of love, warmth, and unwavering devotion to her family. Known for her kind heart and nurturing spirit, Missy found her greatest joy in being “MiMi” to her beloved grandchildren, a role she embraced with endless affection and pride.

Missy worked for many years as a dedicated medical assistant, where her compassionate nature touched the lives of countless patients and coworkers. Outside of her professional life, she found happiness in the simple joys—crafting with care, indulging in a good shopping trip, and exploring new places through her love of travel.

Above all, Missy’s greatest passion was taking care of her family. She poured her heart into every moment, every celebration, and every quiet day spent with the people she loved most. Her warmth, laughter, and creativity will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Missy’s memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and everyone who was lucky enough to feel her love.

She is survived by: Daughter, Nicole Early of Clanton; Daughter; Jessica Early of Nashville; Grandson, Caison Griffin of Clanton; Granddaughter, Calissa Griffin of Clanton; Mother, Beverly Kromer of Verbena; Former Spouse, Phillip Early of Jemison; Special Family Member, Aggie Dennler of Colorado Springs, CO; Brother, Jimmy “Buddy” (Carrie) Kromer of Clanton; Brother, Hassel (Khara) Kromer of Jemison; Sister, Robin Grimes; Best Friend, Glenda Dutton of Jemison; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by: Father, Jimmy Earl Kromer, Sr. and Grandparents, Hassel and Lucille Henderson.

A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, April 17, 2025 at 2:00pm from the Chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. J. Aaron Ellison officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Inurnment will follow in the Chilton Memorial Gardens in Clanton, AL.
