Melissa Sue (Carden) Moore

MELISSA SUE (CARDEN) MOORE, age 61 of Pelham, passed away on March 16, 2021 at Compassus Hospice in Irondale, AL following a brief battle with cancer. She was born in Chilton County on November 29, 1959; the daughter of the late Horace Hoyt Carden and the late Rheda Sue Arledge Carden.

Lissa retired from State Farm Insurance Company as an automotive underwriter after 35 years of service. She loved her family and her dogs. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, John.

She is survived by: Husband, John Moore of Pelham; Son, Miles Scott (Jessica) Benson of Mt. Olive; Step-Son, Scott (Katie) Moore of Alabaster; Grandson, Maverick Benson of Mt. Olive; and Brother, Steve (Donna) Carden of Billingsley.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 19, 2021 at 2:00pm from the Chapel of Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, AL with Rev. J. Aaron Ellison officiating.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Burial will follow in the Union Grove Community Cemetery in Jemison, AL.
