MICHAEL TODD MILLER, age 46 of Thorsby, passed away on April 3, 2023 at his residence after a valiant fight with cancer. He was born in Selma, AL on October 28, 1976; the son of Donald Miller and Beverly Butler Morgan.
He honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corp with tours of duty in both Afghanistan and Iraq. Michael was a true warrior during the Global War on Terrorism, earning various honors and awards; the highest of those being the Purple Heart. In service and in post-service he always put everyone above himself. He was also an avid golfer who loved the game and excelled in any sport he chose to participate in. He was a humble and devoted husband and was also a loving father, son, brother, “favorite son-in-law”, and friend to many. He touched the lives of so many people and will be truly missed.
He is survived by: Wife, Summer Miller of Thorsby; Daughter, Macy Miller of Thorsby; Son, Micah Miller of Thorsby; Son, Manning Miller of Thorsby; Mother, Beverly (Doug) Morgan of Clanton; Father, Donald (Mickie) Miller of Chelsea, Sister, Amy (Chris) Ford of Clanton; Brother, Rick (Lisa) Miller of Clanton; Brother, Jeff Miller of Clanton; Brother, Joshua Gray of Clanton; Step-Sister, Darbie Adams of Birmingham; Step-Sister, Diane (Donnie) Baker of Chelsea; Step-Brother, Wayne (Melissa) Smith of Chelsea; Step-Brother, Shane Smith of Chelsea; Uncles: James (Betty) Miller, Garry (Brenda) Miller, Gregg (Debra) Miller, Charles (Jennifer) Miller all of Selma, and Wayne Butler of Clanton; Father and Mother-in-Law, Tony (Pamela) Shehan of Clanton; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by: Paternal Grandparents, James and Audrey Miller; and Maternal Grandparents, Mack and Apolonia Butler.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 7, 2023 at 7:00pm from the Chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home with Mr. Lee Stuckey and Mr. James Sasser officiating.
Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service.
An inurnment service with full military honors will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at 2:45pm in the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, AL.
