MINNIE PEARL THOMPSON, age 96 of Clanton, passed away on October 12, 2020 at Hatley Healthcare in Clanton, AL. She was born in Chilton County on June 24, 1924; the daughter of the late R.A. Rhodes and the late Katie Driver Rhodes.
She was a former press operator at Keystone in Clanton. She will be remembered as a giving person. She loved to give through her gift of cooking and preparing food for those she loved. She loved to keep in touch with her friends and family over the telephone when she could not see them in person. Sister Thompson, as she was known at Pinedale Assembly of God Church, was a faithful church member and attended services regularly as long as her health permitted. She loved her entire church family there.
She is survived by: Son, Tommy Thompson of Clanton; Daughter, Ann (Sam) Baker of Clanton; Daughter, Linda Willis of Clanton; Daughter, Kathey Taylor of Orange Beach; 11 Grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by: Infant Daughter, Robbin Thompson; Son, Johnny Thompson; Parents, Rube and Katie Rhodes; Brother, Odis Rhodes; and Brother, Pete Rhodes.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at 2:00pm from Pinedale Assembly of God Church with Rev. Thurmond Cleckler officiating.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Burial will follow in the Pinedale Assembly of God Cemetery in Clanton, AL.
