Nancy Faye (Freeman) Clayton

NANCY FAYE (FREEMAN) CLAYTON, age 74 of Thorsby, passed away on December 14, 2025 at Baptist Health-Brookwood Hospital in Homewood, AL. She was born in Shelby County on December 11, 1951; the daughter of the late Jim Ed Freeman and the late Dorothy Marie Amerson Freeman.

She was a loving mother and grandmother who cherished spending time with her family, especially spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed watching movies with her family and spending time in the evenings playing solitaire on her phone.  

She is survived by: Sons: Jimmy Clayton, Joseph Clayton, Cullon Clayton, and Kevin Clayton all of Thorsby; 7 Grandchildren; 6 Great Grandchildren; Sisters, Margaret Fregoso and Dorothy Williams of Alabaster; and Sisters-in-law, Tammy Freeman and Barbara Freeman.

She is preceded in death by: Husband, William Cullon Clayton; Parents, Jim Ed and Dorothy M. Freeman; and Brothers, Johnny Freeman and Jimmy Wayne Freeman.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025 at 11:00am from the Chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home in Clanton with Rev. Mark Davis officiating.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Burial will follow in the Shelby Memory Gardens in Calera, AL.
