NOAH JOVANI “JERRY” MUNIZ, age 7 of Calera, passed away suddenly on July 22, 2025, at UAB-St. Vincent’s Chilton Hospital in Clanton, AL. Born in Alabaster, AL on December 5, 2017, he was the beloved son of Megan Kaye Burnett.
From the very beginning, Jerry was full of life—a joyful, outgoing boy who filled every room with laughter and light. There was never a dull moment when he was around. He was talkative and friendly, never meeting a stranger he didn’t want to know. His sense of humor and boundless energy made him unforgettable to everyone who met him.
Jerry was happiest outdoors. Whether he was zipping around on his four-wheeler, playing in the yard, or proudly riding his bicycle without training wheels for the first time, he lived every moment with wonder and excitement. He loved toy cars and motorcycles and had a remarkable talent for naming the make of any vehicle he saw. He especially loved chocolate—Reese’s Cups were his favorite treat—and he wore his mullet with pride, showing off his bold and playful personality.
At home, Jerry was a loving helper to his grandmother and a caring little brother to Isaiah. He found joy in the simple things, and his presence brought warmth and happiness to his family’s everyday life.
Jerry was a student at Jemison Elementary School and was preparing to start the second grade. He excelled in his studies, made good grades, and most of all, made many friends. His teachers and classmates cherished his bright spirit and kind heart.
He is survived by his loving mother, Megan (Forrest) Burnett of Northport; his cherished brother, Isaiah Burnett of Calera; his devoted grandparents, Phillip and Sandy Burnett of Calera; and his great-grandmother, Connie Pickett of Jemison. He is also survived by his aunt, Nicole (William) Samayoa of Clanton; and a host of other loving relatives, friends, teachers, and classmates who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
A celebration of Jerry’s life will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Kevin Blankenship officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation beginning at 12:00 p.m., two hours prior to the service.
Though his time with us was brief, Jerry’s love, laughter, and light will live on in all who knew and loved him. He was our sunshine, our sweet boy, and our precious memory to cherish forever.
Final care and arrangements entrusted to the Ellison Memorial Funeral Home of Clanton, AL.
