Patricia Ann (Houston) Vest

PATRICIA ANN (HOUSTON) VEST, age 47, of Pelham, passed away on June 24, 2025, at Baptist Health–Shelby Hospital in Alabaster, Alabama.

She was born on October 15, 1977, in Phoenix, Arizona, the daughter of Douglas Erving Houston and the late Anna Marie Holmes Houston.

Patricia worked as a sitter for the elderly, a role that reflected her caring and compassionate heart. She had a deep love for her family and especially adored her grandchildren. She also had a fondness for animals and cared for them with the same warmth and affection she gave to those around her.

She is survived by her children, Brandon Abbott of Columbiana and Brittany Abbott of Clanton; five cherished grandchildren; her father, Douglas E. Houston of Phoenix, AZ; sisters, Christina Wakefield of Indianapolis, IN, and Katie Houston of Clanton; and brother, David Houston of Jemison.

She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Anna Marie Houston.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in The Community Room at Ellison Memorial Funeral Home, with Rev. Jeff Mims officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
