Patsy Diane (Brown) Cost

PATSY DIANE (BROWN) COST, age 72, of Jemison, passed away suddenly on August 1, 2025, at her residence. She was born in Montgomery, Alabama on June 26, 1953, the daughter of the late Arnold Elbert Brown and the late Betty Estelle Thomas Brown.

Patsy was a former employee in the laundry department at Hatley Healthcare in Clanton. She took pride in her work and was known for her dependability and strong work ethic. Outside of work, she loved being outdoors and found peace in the beauty of her home. She enjoyed caring for her animals and watching the hummingbirds that often visited her yard. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her children: Jessie (Rochelle) Lewis of Montevallo, Tina (David) Smith of Clanton, and Clint Cost of Jemison; grandchildren: Krista Vaughan, Kathryn Vaughan, Keith Vaughan, Jacob Lewis, Shawn Smith, Skylar Smith, and Lilly Ellison; and great-grandchildren: Londyn Lewis, Harper Smith, Jesse Smith, Zane Vaughan, Kyle Vaughan, and Henry Robertson. She is also survived by her sisters: Carolyn Creamer, Marilyn Johnson, Sandra Copeland, and Jannette Brown.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Aubrey Dean Cost.

A time of visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home.
