PEGGY NELL (LEMLEY) POLK, age 80 of Montevallo, passed away on June 21, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving husband and daughters. She was born in Shelby County on November 12, 1943; the daughter of the late Johnny Givhan Lemley and the late Linnie Pearle Martin Rayfield.
She was a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother.
She is survived by: Husband, Gene Harper Polk, Sr. of Montevallo; Daughter, Betty Gene (Rick) Nord of Clanton; Daughter, Kathy Jo Polk of Montevallo; Stepsons: Gene H. Polk, Jr of Montevallo, Roger D. Polk of Jemison, David E. (Tina) Polk of Dora, and Randy W. (Vickie) Polk of Brierfield; 14 Grandchildren; 23 Great Grandchildren; Brother, John I. (Jane) Lemley of Atlanta, GA; Brother, Andy Lemley of Calera; Sister, Twan Stacy of Centreville; Sister, Judy (Tom) Hammett of Montevallo; Sister-in-Law, Betty P. McNeel of Alabaster; Brother-in-Law, Michael J. Polk of Montevallo; and Niece, Shirley P. Phillips of Calera.
She is preceded in death by: Father, Johnny Lemley; Mother, Linnie Rayfield; and Brothers, L.C. Lemley and Charles Ray Lemley.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2024 at 2:00pm from the Shelby Memory Gardens Chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home in Calera, AL with Rev. J. Aaron Ellison officiating.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Burial will follow in the Montevallo City Cemetery in Montevallo, AL.
