Philip Harold Mims

PHILIP HAROLD MIMS, age 67 of Clanton, passed away suddenly on March 19, 2023 at St. Vincent-Chilton. He was born in Chilton County on November 23, 1955; the son of the late Harold Virgil Mims and the late Claudia Faye Lockhart Mims.

He was a former machinist at Adient in Clanton. He was a devoted husband and a loving father and grandfather. He enjoyed spending his spare time tinkering with various things. He was a faithful member of Concord Baptist Church where he served in many capacities including treasurer, chairman of the deacons, and worship leader. He loved to minister to others through the gift of song.

He is survived by: Wife, Teresa Mims of Clanton; Son, Brandon Mims of Clanton; Daughter, Carissa (Ashley) Dobbs of Enterprise; Granddaughter, Brianna Mims of Clanton; Grandson, Wyatt Dobbs of Enterprise; Granddaughter, Alyssa Dobbs of Enterprise; Sister, Donna Mims of Clanton; and Sister, Lori Davidson of Clanton.

He is preceded in death by: Inf. Granddaughter, Mackenzie Dobbs; Inf. Grandson, Xander Dobbs; Inf. Granddaughter, Skylar Dobbs; and Parents, Harold and Claudia Mims.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at 2:00pm from Concord Baptist Church in with Rev. Randal Mims, Rev. Doug Powell, and Rev. Bruce Payton officiating.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

Burial will follow in the Concord Baptist Cemetery in Clanton, AL.
