Phillip "Phil" Arnold Thornton

PHILLIP “PHIL” ARNOLD THORNTON, age 56 of Clanton, passed away on August 5, 2022 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster, AL. He was born in Dallas County on December 21, 1965; the son of the late Edwin Vincent Thornton and Edna Jo Middlebrooks.

He was a former truck driver.

He is survived by: Mother, Edna Jo Middlebrooks; Wife, Sherry Thornton; Daughter, Haley (Jonathan) Cagle; Son, Drew (Ashley) Edwards; 7 Grandchildren; Brother, Kenny Thornton; Sisters: Cindy (David) Cleckler, Jennifer (Keith) Sheffield, Susie (Michael) Smith, Darlene Wendell, and Sherrie Jones; He is also survived by Mary “MawMaw” Jones and a host of nieces, nephews, and very special friends.

He is preceded in death by: Father, Edwin Vincent Thornton; and Brother, Michael Lane Thornton.

The family will hold a celebration of life at a later date.
