PHILLIP LAMAR TUBBS, age 68 of Jemison, passed away on August 7, 2024 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster, AL. He was born in Jefferson County, AL on October 4, 1955; the son of the late Holland Thera Tubbs and the late Mable Hamilton Tubbs.
He was a former construction superintendent. Phillip was a family man who put his family above all else. He always put God first in his life. He had amazing faith. He had deep morals and always stood for them, even if they were old-fashioned or not popular with the times. He loved the outdoors and nature along with loving his animals. He was a hard worker who always kept a project going. He had a sense of humor that lent to his silliness, lighthearted jokes, silly nicknames, and points of view. All of this will be greatly missed
He loved and adored his wife, Betty, and they shared an amazing and wonderful life together. He loved his girls, Andrea and Candice, and had high expectations and moral standards for them. He was the best Daddy who taught them how to work hard and have fun doing it. He was always there to give advice and share a laugh.
He is survived by: Wife, Betty Elizabeth Tubbs of Jemison; Daughter, Andrea (Donnie) Wyatt of Prattville; Daughter, Candice (Wesley) Sparks of Northport; Grandchildren: Aydan Wyatt, Autumn Wyatt, and Cade Sparks; Brother, Jerry (Laura) Tubbs of Cedar Bluff; Brother, Ronald (Belinda) Tubbs of Tuscaloosa; Sister, Kaye Brasher of Mt. Olive; Sister, Linda (Ken) Fulmer; and a host of nieces, nephews, beloved friends, and church family.
He is preceded in death by: Parents, Holland and Mable Tubbs; Sister, Holline Allen; Sister, Sara Ruth Martin; Sister, Wenda Burton; Brother, Terry Tubbs; and Brother, Gene Tubbs.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 9, 2024 at 11:00am from the Chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Zack Bates and Rev. Billy Wyatt officiating.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Burial will follow in the Macedonia Baptist Cemetery in Randolph, AL.
