Rena Ellen (Little) Bush

RENA ELLEN (LITTLE) BUSH, age 87 of McKenzie, AL, passed away on May 8, 2023 in Clanton, AL. She was born in Butler County, AL on June 12, 1935; the daughter of the late John Oscar Little and the late Maggie Tolbert Little.

Mrs. Bush was very much loved and respected in her community. Her and her late husband owned and operated Bush’s Exxon Tire and Service Center for many years in McKenzie. She loved to work with, interact, and help her customers during their years there. Her life’s passion was cooking and feeding those she loved. Her home was always open and welcoming, many times with a meal on the table. She will be best remembered as a loving mother and grandmother by her family.

She is survived by: Daughter, Pam (Tony) Shehan of Clanton; Son, Tim (Mindy) Bush of McKenzie; Son, Tracey (Teresa) Bush of Opelika; 7 Grandchildren; 13 Great Grandchildren; and Sister, Edna (John) Humphrey of Paducah, KY.

She is preceded in death by: Husband, Calvin H. Bush, Jr.; Parents, Oscar and Maggie Little; Sister, Mary McCall; Sister, Sister, Melba Wade; and Brother, Wesley Little.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at 11:00am from Elizabeth Primitive Baptist Church with Deacon Jamie Wiggins and Elder Rex Tolbert officiating.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

Burial will follow in the Elizabeth Primitive Baptist Cemetery in McKenzie, AL.
