Obituary

RICHARD OTTO NORD, SR., age 87 of Clanton, passed away on May 15, 2022 at his residence. He was born in New Jersey on November 3, 1934; the son of the late Otto Nord and the late Mary Horrath Nord.

He was a former computer programmer with AT&T.

He is survived by: Son, Richard Otto (Betty) Nord, Jr. of Clanton; Daughter, Laura Jean (James Michael) Desmond of Clanton; Grandson, James Richard Desmond of Clanton; Grandson, Keith Michael Desmond of Clanton; Grandson, Richard Gene (Jaime) Nord of Thorsby; Grandson, Kevin Michael (Jennifer) Nord of Maplesville; Granddaughter, Kelly Marie Nord (Dylan) Barber of Randolph; Great Grandchildren: Carlee, Caylee, Christian, Emmett, Amelia, Henry, Ivy, and Sawyer; and Great Grandchild, Rylee.

He is preceded in death by: Wife, Sherry Gilliland Nord.

A combined inurnment service for Richard and Sherry will be held for family on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at 10:00am in the Chilton Memorial Gardens in Clanton, AL with Rev. J. Aaron Ellison officiating.
