ROBERT GREEN ISBELL, age 84 of Jemison, passed away suddenly on April 17, 2021 at his residence. He was born in Jefferson County on July 12, 1936; the son of the late Bardy Claude Isbell and the late Gracie Mae Harris Isbell.
Bob loved his Lord Jesus Christ and was a devoted Christian and a member of the Providence Baptist Church No. 1.
He loved his family and spending as much time as possible with each one of them. He loved spending time outside in his garden and attending to the flowers.
After retirement he mastered the game of golf. He was a great cook, which was a skill he learned in the Marines. He was a very outgoing and enjoyed making people laugh. Bob often shared with his family and friends that his biggest accomplishment was his marriage of 65 years to Connie Isbell and raising their three children together.
He is survived by: Daughter, Diane (Chuck) Calloway of Jemison; Son, Timothy (Donna) Isbell of Feeding Hill, MA; Daughter, Vicki (Dale) Jones of Alabaster; Granddaughters: Alexandria (Scott) Ellison of Jemison, Allison (Blake) Bright of Cullman, Rhyan (Patrick) Nobles of Birmingham, and Shelby (D.J.) Elton of Shaw Air Force Base, SC; Grandson, Robert (Fiancé Samantha) Isbell of Feeding Hills, MA; Great-Grandchildren: Dylan Ellison, Bennett Bright, Alivia Ellison, Barrett Bright, Will Nobles, and Ansley Bright; Sisters, Clara McCloud and Patricia Talley; and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He is preceded in death by: Wife, Connie Isbell; Parents, Bardy Claude and Gracie Mae Isbell; Brother, Jackie Isbell; and Sisters: Joan Dietrich, Alene Marquess, Charlotte Cork, and Della Cork.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at 12:00 Noon from the Providence Baptist Church No. 1 with Rev. Allen Foster officiating.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Burial will follow in the Cedar Grove Cemetery in Maylene, AL.
