ROBERT “BOB” ALLEN WINTERS, age 82 of Clanton, passed away on August 8, 2025, at UAB St. Vincent-Chilton Hospital in Clanton, Alabama. He was born in St. Petersburg, Florida, on May 3, 1943, the son of the late Robert Daniel Heinemann and the late Grace Dorothea Fitzgerald Heinemann.
Bob worked as an electrician and had a lifelong love for computers and technology. He was exceptionally skilled in mathematics and enjoyed using his talents to solve problems and help others. A man of many interests, he spent countless hours studying genealogy, preserving family history, and challenging friends and family to a good game of chess.
Since joining The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1984, Bob devoted himself to living the gospel and serving faithfully in various callings. His testimony of Jesus Christ was unwavering, and he found joy in attending church, serving others, and studying the scriptures.
He is survived by: wife, Susan Winters of Clanton; daughters, Laura Winters of Clanton, Rebecca Medcalf of Jemison, Miranda Winters of Stockton, CA, Roberta Gonzalez of Horizon City, TX, and Lori Harris of Ypsilanti, MI; 10 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 15, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. from the Clanton Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
A graveside service will be held in Tonaquint Cemetery in St. George, UT at a date following the local services.
