Rodney Irvan Proctor, Sr.

RODNEY IRVAN PROCTOR, SR., age 79 of Clanton, passed away on April 29, 2022 at his residence. He was born in Millwood, KY on February 1, 1943; the son of the late James Proctor and the late Rudell Mae Tomes Proctor.

On April 16, 1965 he was united in marriage to Carolyn Miller, with whom he enjoyed 56 years of marriage with. Rodney left the coal mines of Kentucky in 1985 to move to Greenville, SC and attended Tabernacle Baptist Bible College. After his graduation he moved to South Dakota and started a church where they preached and ministered to the Sioux Indians. Years later, they moved to Ciudad Victoria, Mexico to take the Gospel to the Hispanics. After 17 years on the field, they came back to America because of health reasons. Rodney loved the Lord, his family, and was faithful until the end. Rodney loved good old-fashioned singing and preaching. He was welcomed into Heaven’s gates for being a servant of the Lord.

He is survived by: Daughter, Angela (Butch) Mace of Clanton; Son, Rodney (Teresa) Proctor, Jr. of Clanton; Son, John (Rebekah) Proctor of Dalton, GA; Son, James Proctor of Verbena; 16 Grandchildren; 6 Great Grandchildren; Sister, Barbara Layman of KY; and Sister, Donna Moore of KY.

He is preceded in death by his Wife, Carolyn Sue Proctor.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 6, 2022 at 10:00am from the Victory Baptist Temple in Calera, AL with Pastor David Johnston officiating.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

Burial with military honors will follow at 11:45am in the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, AL.
