Rodney Temple Obituary

RODNEY WAYNE TEMPLE, age 68 of Shelby, Alabama, passed away on April 19, 2025, at Grandview Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama. Born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on June 11, 1956, he was the beloved son of the late Forrest Wayne Temple and Doris Lilly Temple.

Rodney was a quiet, private man who lived simply and worked hard. He honorably served his country in the United States Air Force, with service during the Vietnam Conflict—an experience that shaped his sense of duty and strength of character.

Rodney worked as an electrician with Adient in Clanton, Alabama. He was known for his reliability, dedication, and no-nonsense work ethic. A man of few words but deep integrity, he was respected by all who worked alongside him.

A devoted husband to his wife, Donna, and a loving father to his children, Rodney showed his love through thoughtful gestures—bringing home flowers, cookies, or sweets just to brighten Donna’s day. He had a kind heart, a steady spirit, and a quiet strength that his family and friends cherished.

Rodney was also a proud LSU fan who loved cheering on the Tigers during football and baseball seasons. Whether it was a big game day or just catching a few innings, rooting for his team brought him real joy.

His life was a testament to service, humility, loyalty, and love. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

He is survived by: Wife, Donna Edwards Temple of Shelby; Son, Matthew Morgan of Jemison; Daughter, Hannah (Nick) Hagans of Clanton; Son, Tyler (Jada) Morgan of Jemison; Grandchildren: Gracie Hagans, Lexie Hagans, Colton Hagans, and Ryker Hagans; and Mother, Doris Temple of Baton Rouge, LA.

He is preceded in death by: Father, Forrest Wayne Temple; Brother, Michael Temple; and Infant Sister, Shirley Temple.

A private family graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2025 in the Lomax Church of Christ Cemetery in Clanton, AL.

Final care and arrangements entrusted to the Ellison Memorial Funeral Home of Clanton, AL.
