ROSCOE CECIL “BUD” BELCHER, JR., age 92 of Jemison, passed away on October 16, 2020 at his residence. He was born in Bibb County on April 29, 1928; the son of the late Roscoe Cecil Belcher, Sr. and the late Dickie Battles Belcher.
He was a former truck driver. Bud loved to be a worker in his church, Faith Full Gospel Church in Jemison. He enjoyed listening to gospel music and was the driver for many gospel groups over the years. His love for the Lord led him to be chosen to be a missionary to Mexico where he was able to assist in the delivery of supplies to the natives there. Bud will be best remembered as a faithful, devoted, and loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother.
He is survived by: Wife, Mary Belcher of Jemison; Daughter, Theresa Dill of Clanton; Daughter, Donna Horton of Montevallo; Daughter, Debbie Lucas of Montevallo; Daughter, Brenda Belcher of Montevallo; Daughter, Treasure Williams of Calera; 12 Grandchildren; Brother, Taylor Belcher of Thorsby; Sister, Betty Boothe of Pea Ridge; and Sister, Sherry Belcher of Jemison.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 19, 2020 from 6-8pm at Ellison Memorial Funeral Home in Clanton.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at 11:00am from the Chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home in Clanton with Rev. Kenneth Hearn and Rev. Douglas Scott officiating.
Burial will follow in the Ashby Baptist Cemetery in Ashby, AL.
