SAM MORRIS EASTERLING, age 82 of Clanton, passed away on November 20, 2021 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster, AL. He was born in Chilton County on October 3, 1939; the son of the late James Samuel Easterling and the late Cerilla Lockhart Easterling.
He was a produce salesman in Chilton County for many years where he earned the name Mr. Tomato Man. He loved to talk and converse with the many people he came in contact with. He will be best remembered as a loving father, grandfather, and a friend to many people.
He is survived by: Daughter, Elizabeth (David) Moore of Clanton; Step-Son, Jim (Julia) Maddox of Clanton; Step-Son, Jeffery (Donna) Maddox of Clanton; 9 Grandchildren; A host of great grandchildren; Brother, Ennis Easterling of Clanton; Brother, David (Melissa) Easterling of Clanton; and Sister, Geraldine Lockhart of Clanton.
He is preceded in death by: Wife, Emily Easterling; Son, Eric James Easterling; Parents, James Samuel and Cerilla Easterling; Brothers: Vernon Easterling, Collis Easterling, and Jack Easterling; and Sisters, Myrtle Mims and Velma Easterling.
A graveside funeral service with military honors will be held on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at 12:00 Noon in the Walnut Creek United Methodist Cemetery in Clanton, AL with Bro. Jimmie Hardee officiating.
Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00am until 11:45am at Ellison Memorial Funeral Home in Clanton.
