Samuel Ezell Ellison

SAMUEL EZELL ELLISON, age 77 of Clanton, passed away on March 19, 2025 at Baptist Health – Shelby Hospital in Alabaster, AL. He was born in Talladega County on May 29, 1947; the son of the late Lodis Deece Ellison and the late Daisy Mae Thomas Ellison.

Sammy was the longtime former owner and operator of Ellison Recycling in Clanton. He loved spending time outdoors where he enjoyed hunting and working on his tractor. He also enjoyed shooting his guns and spending time with his over 70 grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

He is survived by: Wife, Faye Baker-Ellison of Clanton; Daughter, Tina (Michael) Smith of Ragland; Daughter, Ashley (Billy) Weathers of Clanton; Daughter, Marie Williams of Thorsby; Son, Ricky Wyatt of Clanton; Son, Cory Ellison of Clanton; 18 Grandchildren; 43 Great Grandchildren; and 9 Great-Great Grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by: Wife of 42 years, Joyce Ellison; Daughter, Tanya Shane Ellison; Son, Michael Lee Wyatt; Grandson, Zachary Adam Edwards; Grandson, Phillip Dewayne Williams; Granddaughter, Christi Lynn Isenhower; and Parents, Lodis Deece and Daisy Mae Ellison.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 23, 2025 at 2:00pm from the Chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home in Clanton with Rev. J. Aaron Ellison officiating.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Burial will follow in the Chilton Memorial Gardens in Clanton, AL.
