Samuel Wayne Wilson

SAMUEL WAYNE WILSON, age 74 of Clanton, passed away on December 19, 2020 at his residence. He was born in Chilton County on April 11, 1946; the son of the late Sam Wilson and the late Olivia Gilliland Wilson.

He was a former carpenter. He attended church at Cedar Grove Church in Thorsby. He and Kay enjoyed attending services, singings, and fellowships there.

He is survived by: Wife of 35 years, Mary Kay Thornton Wilson; Step-Sons, Anthony D. Ellison and Lonnie E. Ellison; Daughters, Rena (Joey) Cleckler and Rochelle Gibson; Son, Jeffrey Wilson; Sister, Elaine (Cliff) Clark; Uncle, Harold (Judy) Gilliland; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends.

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 21, 2020 from 6-8pm at Ellison Memorial Funeral Home of Clanton.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at 10:00am from the Chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home of Clanton with Rev. Jeff Carroll officiating.

Burial will follow in the Cedar Grove Cemetery in Thorsby, AL.
