Sandra was deeply committed to her professional life, working in various capacities at Sears and Roebuck in locations such as Vestavia, Scottsdale, Mesa, Bessemer, Tuscaloosa, and Eastwood. Her hobbies included driving without a set destination, researching family ancestry, and dreaming of the next place she would live.
She was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on August 3, 1950 at the Theocracy's Increase International Assembly in New York City. She enjoyed 74 years of faithful service and spent countless hours preaching and teaching others about the Bible.
Sandra leaves behind a loving family, including her daughters Kathy Weidemann of Atmore, AL, Kerri Young (Russell) of Willard, MO, and Andrea Dolatabadi (Bezshan) of Birmingham, AL. She was a cherished Grammy to Shannon Govednik (Ed), Brandi Tabas (Joe), Ashlie Skidmore (Shaun), and Leigha Weidemann; Grandma to Brandt Bestol (Denise), Kurt Bestol, and Katie Young; Nana to Arayah Reynolds (Jamey), Brandon Russell, Cole Russell, Andrew Russell, and Stratton Dolatabadi. She also leaves behind 14 great-grandchildren. Sandra was preceded in death by her parents LA and Kathleen McBride, her husband Hollins Randel Driver, her sister Doris Kamphuis, and her brothers Jerry and Milton McBride.
Sandra's life will be privately celebrated and remembered for her zest, faith, and the deep connections she forged throughout her remarkable journey. She requested that no formal funeral service be held.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of Shelby Ridge Skilled Nursing, Affinity Hospice, and Brookwood Medical Center for bringing her comfort in her final weeks.
