SHELBY ELIZABETH FRIDAY, age 29 of Clanton, passed away suddenly on June 23, 2025, at her residence. She was born on September 20, 1995, in Sylacauga, Alabama.
Shelby was an outgoing and spirited young woman with a deep love for animals and a joyful passion for dancing. Her lively personality, kind heart, and fun-loving spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her beloved children, Elizabeth Childress and Mason Childress, both of Clanton; her mother, Krystal Mims of Clanton; her father, Anthony McCary of Clanton; her grandmother, Cynthia Mims of Clanton; and her grandparents, Ronnie and Janice Caton of Clanton. She is also survived by her siblings: Tony McCary of Clanton, Nikki (Paul) Caton of Jemison, Amy Evans of Clanton, Jimmy L. Friday of Clanton, and Sherry McGilberry of Pike Road; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her adoptive parents, Jimmy and Robbie Friday; grandparents, Lloyd and Mildred DeLoach; grandfather, Stephen Joseph Mims; grandmother, Inez Ward; and grandfather, Harold McCary.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 7, 2025, from the Chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home, with Bro. John Smith officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
