Shirley Elizabeth (Bailey) Grimes

SHIRLEY ELIZABETH (BAILEY) GRIMES, age 89 of Pelham, Alabama, passed away on January 5, 2024.  She was born on October 16, 1935 in Dryden, Virginia. She was the daughter of Vinnie Elizabeth Asbury Bailey and Frank Webster Bailey.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Harold Grimes, Sr.; daughter, Elizabeth Marie (Button) Sweat; son Joseph Johnston Grimes; sisters JoAnn Weil, Jean McDole, Sue Deaton; brother John Bailey and son-in-law, Roger Woodfin.

She is survived by her brother, Jerry (Georgia) Bailey; son, James H. (Bo) Grimes, Jr. and wife Patty; daughters, Susan Woodfin, Theresa Grimes, Cathy (Paul) Mansfield, Barbara Grimes, Jennifer Grimes; and son-in-law, Mike Sweat.

She is survived by grandsons, Blake (Shannon) Woodfin, Nathan (Mandie) Mansfield,  Eric (Hannah) Mansfield, Patrick Cleere, Patrick Grimes and Austin Grimes; granddaughters Jacque (Jonathan) Ibarra, Ashley Sweat, Jessica (Chris) Cole, Andrea (Jamie) Cates, Kimberly (Mark) Milazzo; great grandsons Dylan Cole, Hayden Cole, Harrison Cole, Michael Milazzo, Mason Ezell, Ben Ibarra, Noah Woodfin, Owen Ibarra, Alex Ibarra, and Lucas Mansfield; great granddaughters Jamie Sweat, Tessa Milazzo, Autumn Cates, Jameson Mansfield and Parker Mansfield

A private memorial service and inurnment will be scheduled at a later date.
