Shirley Jean (Marler) Upton

SHIRLEY JEAN (MARLER) UPTON, age 66 of Aransas Pass, TX and formerly of Chilton County, passed away on May 17, 2024 in Clanton, AL. She was born in Chilton County on December 2, 1957; the daughter of the late William Earl Marler and the late Madlyn Baker Marler.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Shirley was good to everyone and had a never-ending love for her family.

She is survived by: Husband, Thomas E. Upton, Sr. of Aransas Pass, TX; Daughter, Tracy L. (Josh) Solomon of Clanton; Stepson, Thomas E. (Jessica) Upton, Jr. of Aransas Pass, TX; Stepdaughter, Dolores Havens of Aransas Pass, TX; 11 Grandchildren; 1 Great Grandchild; Brother, Larry (Kathy) Marler of Millbrook; Brother, Greg (Judy) Marler of Jemison; Sister, Barbara (Chuck) Glass of Demopolis; Sister, Judy Laister of Jemison; Sister, Janet (Greg) Miller of Jemison; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at 2:00pm from the Chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Dakota Patterson officiating.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Burial will follow in the Union Grove Community Cemetery in Jemison, AL.
