STEPHEN PAUL TAYLOR, age 61 of Stanton, died on May 25, 2022 at his residence. He was born in Danville, IL on October 10, 1960; the son of the late Vertis A. Taylor and the late Naomi Irene Taylor.
He graduated high school at Stanton Christian School in Stanton, AL; and was a graduate of George C. Wallace Community College in Selma, AL. He was married to Carmen Mercado on June 22, 2019 in Prattville, AL. He owned and operated Southern Electronics Service for many years in the Stanton and Maplesville area.
Stephen attended The River of Life Church in Deatsville, AL, where he worked in the ministry’s sound booth. He loved to fish, scuba dive, and spending time with his family and friends where he was the life of the party.
He is survived by: Wife, Carmen Mercado Taylor; Sisters: Wanda Ayers, Patsy Fleming, Linda Cummins, and Lori Little; Brothers: Douglas Taylor and Dillard Taylor; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by: Father, Vertis A. Taylor; Mother, Naomi Irene Taylor; Brother, William “Donnie” Hugh Taylor; and a special Niece, Sabrina Anne Carroll.
A graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at 11:00am in the Chilton Memorial Gardens in Clanton, AL with Rev. William Short officiating.
